The Seattle Mariners have agreed to a one-year, $1.6 million deal with Yoshihisa Hirano.

Hirano has spent the last two seasons with the Arizona Diamondbacks as a valuable reliever.

He appeared in 137 games for Arizona and posted a 3.47 ERA.

Hirano can earn $500,000 in bonuses based on pitching appearances: $50,000 each for 30 and 35, $75,000 apiece for 45 and 50, $100,000 for 55 and $150,000 for 60.

The San Francisco Giants have brought back Pablo Sandoval on a Minor League deal.

The deal is reportedly worth $2 million with $750,000 in incentives.

Sandoval is rehabbing from Tommy John surgery, but could prove a valuable reverse infielder for the Giants.

Kris Bryant lost his grievance against the Chicago Cubs and won't become a free agent until after the 2021 season, according to a source.

Bryant was seeking an extra year of service time, which would have allowed him to hit free agency earlier.

With two seasons of team control left, the Cubs can seek more in a possible trade involving Bryant.

The Kansas City Royals have brought back Greg Holland on a Minor League deal.

Holland will make $1.25 million on the one-year deal if he's added to the 40-man roster. He also has the chance to earn more through performance bonuses.

The reliever was 1-2 with a 4.54 ERA last year in 40 relief appearances with the Arizona Diamondbacks.

The Milwaukee Brewers have agreed to terms on a contract with David Phelps.

The deal is for one year with a club option for 2021.

The 33-year-old reliever finished last season with the Chicago Cubs. Between the Cubs and Toronto Blue Jays in 2019, he made 41 appearances and posted a 3.41 ERA.

The New York Mets have agreed to a Minor League deal with Eduardo Nunez.

He will report to Major League spring training.

Nunez hit .228/.243/.305 in 60 games with the Boston Red Sox last season.

The Boston Red Sox have re-signed Mitch Moreland to a one-year with a club option for 2021.

The deal is worth $3 million via a $2.5 million salary in 2020 plus a $3 million club option with a $500,000 buyout, according to a league source.

Moreland's deal brings the Red Sox's bottom-line payroll to around $236 million, far exceeding the luxury-tax threshold of $208 million.

John Henry has expressed a desire to cut salary and get under the luxury-tax threshold, but recently told The Boston Globe that was the "goal" and not a "mandate."

The Milwaukee Brewers have re-signed Shelby Miller to a Minor League deal with an invitation to Major League spring training.

Miller was released by the Texas Rangers in July and signed by the Brewers. He made eight minor league starts, five at Triple-A San Antonio and three in rookie ball, but did not appear in a big league game and was released in late August.

The Cincinnati Reds have agreed to terms on a four-year, $64 million deal with Nick Castellanos.

The deal matches the biggest free-agent contract in team history.

It allows Castellanos to opt out and become a free agent after the 2020 or 2021 seasons. He gets salaries of $16 million in 2020, $14 million in 2021, and $16 million in 2022 and 2023.

There's a mutual option for 2024 at $20 million with a buyout of $2 million.

The Miami Marlins have agreed to a one-year, $3 million deal with Brandon Kintzler, according to a source.

The deal includes a $4 million option for 2021 or a $250,000 buyout.

Kintzler, 35, had a 2.68 ERA and 1.018 WHIP for the Chicago Cubs in 2019.
